Roatan is a lush tropical island off the coast of Honduras. This is a beach on the west end of the island.
We boarded a semi submerged boat to go explore the famous coral reefs off the coast of Roatan.
Roatan is part of the second largest barrier reef system in the world. There was lots of fish around these coral reefs.
Roatan has some chocolate factories as well. Honduras is known for coffee and chocolate too.
These cruise ships are anchored near the smaller port on the island by the capital of Coxen Hole.
I took this photo from the deck of the cruise ship at dusk. Roatan is a beautiful island.
Mahagony Bay is the larger cruise terminal used by Princess and Carnival. This is the beach area at dusk as we were departing.

Roatan
is an island off the coast of Honduras. It is the largest of
the Bay Coastal islands of Honduras and known for diving and
snorkeling. The lush tropical island also has some chocolate
factories too. Overall, it seemed pretty underdeveloped
still, and it felt like I was on the mainland of Honduras. We
visited this island as a part of a New Year's Cruise on the Majestic
Princess cruise ship.
